70 primary school children have participated in the Summer Educational Support Program

The City Council has funded 100% of the cost of the program for 16 students


A total of 70 elementary students have participated during the months of July and August in the Educational Support Program, organized by the department of Education and has been developed in the public school Leonor Canalejas. This year the City Council has supported 16 students with 100% of the cost of the program, in which students were able to strengthen their knowledge in mathematics, Spanish language, Valenciano and English in order to improve their school results. In addition, students have also participated in educational workshops recreational encouraging reading, study skills, verbal and mathematical reasoning, English and memory games. This program has been developed since July 5, from Monday to Friday and in two shifts: from 09.00 to 11.00 hours, for students of second, fourth and sixth year: and from 11.30 to 13.30 hours, for 1st, 3rd and 5th year. Last Friday, August 26, the closing of the program was held in Leonor Canalejas school, in which the mayor and responsible for Education, Toni Pérez, and the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer participated. In this event 70 students received the diploma certifying their participation in this program. The mayor explained that "the program will take place under the best possible conditions, to promote the quality of learning and to prevent teachers and students the rigors of heat, the City Council has funded the installation of air conditioners in four classrooms. The department of Education has allocated 22,763.58 euros to this program so that the activity had a minimal cost to families.
