More than 2,600 runners have participated this Sunday in the Half Marathon and the 10 Kilometers of Benidorm that have started at 10.00 hours from the Plaza SSMM Reyes de España. The winner of the Half Marathon has been Mohamed Boucetta, from the Playa Castelló club, who has completed 21 kilometers in 1:09:32 hours. The second place has been for Jorge Bardisa (Kilometer 42); While Agustín Sieres (Serrano Club) has achieved the third position. Rubén Caballero (CA Benidorm) has been fourth in the overall standings and first in the Local category, and Alberto García (Rungo-Sports) has been fifth. In the women's category, the win was for the Real Ferror runner Yamilka González, who crossed the finish line when the chronometer struck 01:26:01 hours. The second place has been for María Isabel Ferrer (Llebeig Xàbia); The third, for Mercedes Merino (Mobel Automenor); The fourth, for Gillian Burns (independent); And the fifth for Helen Armitage (Witham Running Club). Gemma Ann Selby (CA El Faro) and Pilar Rodríguez (CA Benidorm) have been fourth and fifth respectively in the Absolute category, and first and second in the Local category. Tribute to Dani Júarez

Before the start of the races, the City Council and the organizing company, Grupo Brotons, wanted to pay tribute to Dani Juárez, the 24-year-old runner from Benidorm who died last year after completing the Half Marathon. Participants and public have observed a minute of silence for the athlete; And a plaque has been given to his parents, relatives and friends, many of whom have competed in the 10 km test and the Half Marathon in T-shirts in memory of Dani Juárez.
