School Voucher Public Transport Students Secondary Education

TARGET GROUP:
ESO students who are excluded from the Regional Government (Consellería) subsidy because their home address is less than 3 km from the school and who are registered as residents (empadronados) in Benidorm.
Baccalaureate, Vocational Training (Intermediate/Advanced Training Cycles) or Basic Vocational Training students from local public secondary schools who are registered as residents in Benidorm.
 

REQUIREMENTS:
The student must be registered as a resident in Benidorm during the academic year.
The student must be enrolled in one of the local public secondary schools.
 

DEADLINE:
The application process is open throughout the whole year.
 

COLLECTION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:
Applications can be collected and submitted at the Municipal Administrative Offices or at the General Registry of Benidorm Town Hall.
For the first application for the card, no fee must be paid. The applicant only needs to complete the application form and provide a passport-size photograph.
 

DELIVERY OF THE CARD (SCHOOL PROFILE):
Cards with the SCHOOL profile will be issued by the Education Department.
 

MUNICIPAL SUBSIDY:
The current municipal subsidy per journey is €1.33.
 

NOTES:
The student obtains the “Bonobús” transport card and pays only part of the cost. Benidorm Town Hall pays the remaining amount of the ticket cost to the transport company.
For the first application and for renewals due to loss or damage, a new card will be issued.
To activate school continuity, the student must use the same card they already have.
In the event of loss or damage to the card, renewal must be processed at the General Registry of Benidorm Town Hall or at the Municipal Administrative Offices. A payment of €4 must be made into one of the bank accounts indicated on the application form, and proof of payment must be provided.
 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
 

ACTIVATION OF SCHOOL CONTINUITY
Once the academic year has ended, the card is deactivated for school use and changes to the YOUTH profile.
To reactivate the SCHOOL profile and use the card during the following academic year, the student must apply in person at the Education Department during the summer holidays. If this is not done, the card will remain with the YOUTH profile and the school discount will not apply.
