The Cultural Week of Major Patron Saint Festivities resumes its activities tonight with a concert by SM La Nova
The recital will take place at 9 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cultural Center
On Sunday, it will be the turn of Benidorm Musical Union and the Rondalla of ACR La Barqueta
The Societat Musical La Nova de Benidorm presents its ‘Concert de Festes Majors’ tonight as part of the activities programmed by the Department of Culture for the Cultural Week of the Major Patron Saint Festivities, which takes place from November 8th to 12th. The councillor for the department, Jaime Jesús Pérez, announced that this concert will begin at 9:00 PM in the auditorium of the Cultural Centre, and invited the public to “come and enjoy the music and the high quality of our bands, during this week that serves as a prelude to our main festivities.”
Under the baton of their director, Francisco José Rovira, the musicians of La Nova will perform a varied repertoire for the audience, including the pieces Euphoria, arranged by Jan van Kraeydonck; the pasodoble Francisco Antón ‘Picorro’, by Rafael Doménech Pardo; and Frenesí, by Alberto Dominguez, arranged by Naohiro Iwai. Amparito Roca by Jaime Teixidor; music by Bad Bunny arranged by Jesús Ufano; the Valencia march by José Padilla; Esa Diva adapted by Eric Rodriguez Manzano; Pasodobles Mix arranged by Jesús Ufano; and Alaska adapted by Azael Tormo.
Jaime Jesús Pérez indicated that, as with all the activities programmed within this FMP Cultural Week, “admission will be free until capacity is reached” and expressed his hope that “many people will attend and enjoy this festive concert.”
The following activities of the Cultural Week will take place over the weekend. Specifically, on Sunday, November 2nd, at 11:00 AM and on the same stage, the Benidorm Musical Union will perform. Also on Sunday, at 1:00 PM, the Rondalla of the ACR La Barqueta will offer a concert in the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna.
Looking ahead to next week, on Tuesday, November 4th, at 8:00 PM, the Town Hall's Assembly Hall will host a dramatic reading of ‘Don Juan Tenorio’, performed by the local theatre groups Alpí Teatre and Tossal Teatre.
The following day, Wednesday, November 5th, the program returns to the Auditorium of the Cultural Centre for a concert by the musicians of UDP Llíria-Camp de Turia-Serranos. This will take place at 6:00 PM.
Finally, on Thursday, November 6th, at 7:00 PM, the exhibition ‘Benidorm, Footprint of Time’, promoted by the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage, will open at Museu Boca del Calvari. An hour later, in the Town Hall's Assembly Hall, Taller de Teatre will present ‘The Magic of Theatre’.
The Councillor for Culture has once again thanked all the local cultural and musical entities, as well as the departments of Historical and Cultural Heritage and of Festivals, for their “collaboration and involvement with this Cultural Week”.
