Comissió and City Council agree to move the Festes Majors Patronals 'mascletás' ( traditional Spanish firecracker displays) to Foietes Avenue

The mascletàs (firecracker displays) for the Patroness Saint Festival will be launched this November from Foietes Avenue. This proposal was made by the Fiestas Committee to Benidorm City Council, which has agreed to move the pyrotechnic displays to this location this year due to the impossibility of holding them at their usual site on Jaime I Avenue, where construction work on the underground parking garage is ongoing.

The new location, the roadway of Foietes Avenue, meets all the technical requirements for hosting this pyrotechnic activity and guarantees the safety distances required by regulations regarding buildings and the public, who can be comfortably distributed in the surrounding areas. Furthermore, the layout of the avenue and its surroundings ensures that the mascletàs will maintain their scale and spectacular nature.

The Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, thanked the Fiestas Committee and the pyrotechnic professionals for their initiative in proposing an alternative location that “meets all the requirements and standards of quality and comfort to ensure that one of the most important and crowded events of the program continues to offer the best experience to festival-goers, residents and visitors, as well as enhancing celebrations that are the heritage of all Benidorm residents.”
