The young people have learned to pitch tents at José Antonio Añón Hostel's camping area and have learned about integrated water cycle management.

On Wednesday, the Benidorm City Council’s Department of Youth, in collaboration with the Bernat de Sarrià secondary school, organised an activity to introduce local students to the new facilities at the José Antonio Añón Ramón Hostel and Camping Area and the Séquia Mare Interpretation Centre, all located within Séquia Mare Park. The department’s councillor, Ana Soliveres, along with technical staff, accompanied the young people and their teachers during the event, which is part of the preparatory activities leading up to the opening of these new spaces.

Soliveres noted that "this visit exemplifies the public-private collaboration model we will use to manage these facilities and highlights the target audience we aim to reach; the space will be open to all residents and visitors but will focus particularly on children and young people—through organisations or educational centres—offering leisure and educational activities in close contact with nature."

Activities throughout the morning included a tent-pitching workshop and various outdoor games. Students also learned about the integrated water cycle and the importance of efficient water resource management—an area in which Benidorm serves as a model.

The Youth Councillor announced that "we already have new groups interested in visiting and enjoying these facilities," while reiterating that "our doors are open to other youth groups or organisations" wishing to do the same. As previously announced, the Séquia Mare Interpretation Centre will open its doors this Friday, October 9, with an event open to the general public starting at 8:00 p.m., offering a chance to explore this museum space dedicated to showcasing the historical relationship between the city and water.
